The jury will have to select the best works remotely. In total, this time the organizers received 450 pictures. 341 of them came from Norilsk: 150 drawings and 191 graffiti sketches. 5 works were sent from Dudinka, 44 pictures – from Zapolyarny and 60 ones – from Nickel. The judges will judge remotely this year.
They accept items in two categories: Drawing and Graffiti (street art). Drawings on the theme My Dad at Work is a Superhero are expected from children aged 4–6 and 7–9 years. In the of Graffiti direction, teenagers of 10 to 17 years old and youngsters of 18 to 35 years old participate. The category Polar Attraction is created for them.
The works of the best graffitists will become the basis for the Norilsk College of Industrial Technology and Service building’s design. In terms of color and meaning the sketches should correspond to the surrounding city space – this is one of the prerequisites. Also, works should stylistically harmonize with the multi-functional fitness center Aika being built nowadays (Aika is named after a polar cub – a popular cartoon character).
This year, because of the epidemic situation, the competition was held online. All works will be placed in the cloud, and the commission representatives will just need to click on the links to get acquainted with them. Now a list of judges is being formed. It is already known that it will include the representatives of the General and Preschool Education Department and the Culture and Art Affairs Department of the Norilsk administration, the Talnah art school, the Norilsk Technical college of Industrial Technologies and Service, the Corporate Projects department and the Public Relations department of the Nornickel Polar Branch.
