#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Norilsk photographer and tundra connoisseur Olga Alexandrova, in one of her short trips around the city, caught an unexpected and successful shot – an owlet in cloudberries.
The chick sat in a secluded place among the Taimyr berries. Now in Taimyr, it is just the right time when cloudberries are ripening. It is a berry, which northerners call royal. The photographer shared pictures of the new acquaintance on social networks:
“I was very glad about this meeting, although first it scared me – it fluttered sharply from under my hands when I was picking cloudberries. Just look it’s a miracle framed by the most beautiful northern berries”.
The commentators were also touched by the big-eyed stranger: “Cloudberry is good, of course, but the owlet is wonderful! Those eyes are amazing!”, “Wow! Cloudberry keeper!”, “This is good luck! He’s waiting for his mom with mice”, “Diamond eyes!”
Olga believes that the chick was really waiting for his mother. She says that at that time he still did not know how to fly, he only flitted from place to place:
“The day before, I saw his mother in that place. I was also surprised that she flew past me so low. Now I understand why. Perhaps he was not the only one there, I just did not notice the others. Most likely, there was a nest somewhere nearby”.
