#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Interregional Media Forum Yenisei.RF is the largest professional platform for the media industry in Siberia. This year, at the end of October, the media representatives from the federal center, the Krasnoyarsk region and other regions gathered in Krasnoyarsk. Nornickel acted as the general partner.
Lectures and master classes in the regional center were held for media executives, editors, journalists, bloggers, media producers, representatives of new media, photographers, videographers, designers and other representatives of the creative industries. The meetings were held under the general theme Challenges and New Media Opportunities.
Our colleague from the municipal publication received awards in the Portrait, Many Faces and Reportage categories. All shooting was carried out in Taimyr and Norilsk.
The photo contest winner’s diploma was presented by a TASS photojournalist, winner of the professional competitions Pictures of the Year, WMS Global Awards, Energy of Victories and the Andrey Stenin International Photojournalism Competition – Sergey Bobylev.
“The main thing in this job is to be able to shoot everything: from protocol events, emergency situations, sports competitions to a variety of genre photographs. It is important to remember that the requirements for quality are the same everywhere, regardless of the situation. This is the complexity and at the same time the uniqueness of the work of a photographer working in a news agency. Each time we work in different worlds, in which we need to navigate, understand and quickly transfer high-quality material”, he said.
An important piece of advice that Bobylev gave to aspiring photographers is “to shoot more and watch more of what others are shooting”.
Previously, the works of Norilsk resident Leonid Pryadko were included in the top 100 best photographs of the year, and the This Is Taimyr photographer Nikolay Shchipko, became the winner of the Streetphotorussia 2021 International Street Photography Contest.
