#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The winners of the prestigious Art of Building competition held by the British Royal Institute of Building have become known. The judges reviewed thousands of photographs by authors from more than a hundred countries.
Photo work Frozen Land secured the seventh place in the final of the contest for Russian photographer Yulia Nevskaya. According to the picture’s author, in the industrial city beyond the Arctic Circle, she found the perfect combination of white and blue. The central place in the picture is occupied by the Norilsk College of Industrial Technologies and Service building. Its face features a drawing by 13-year-old Alina Adzhamskaya, who won the Add Color to the City contest.

As a reminder, the Nornickel company is holding the contest Add Color to the City in the areas of drawing and graffiti. The competition was first held in Norilsk in 2014. The best artistic ideas of young northerners are annually transferred to self-adhesive posters and decorated with them on city buses. The sketches of the winners have transformed a number of objects, including the facades of the Technological Railway Transport Enterprise building, the children’s hospital and the residential building at Komsomolskaya, 41a. The competition is held not only on the Taimyr peninsula, but also on the Kola peninsula, where one of the assets of Nornickel, the Kola MMC, is located.
