#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk Nickel FC and Brazil national team goalkeeper Willian Dorn became the world champion in futsal. In the final game, he beat Argentina as part of the yellow-blues and was recognized as the best player in the decisive match, and also became the best goalkeeper at the end of the entire championship.
The Futsal World Cup was held in Uzbekistan from September 14 to October 6. From the very beginning of the tournament, the Brazilians were considered one of the World Cup favorites and eventually became the best national team in the world. In the decisive match, they beat Argentina – 2:1, and Norilsk Nickel goalkeeper Willian Dorn played a great game for the yellow-blues. Throughout the match, he demonstrated excellent reaction, saving his team in the most seemingly hopeless episodes.
As a result, the goalkeeper was recognized as the best player of the final match, and also received the prize for the best goalkeeper of the entire championship. For the Brazilian team, this victory was the sixth at the Futsal World Championships, the last time it happened 12 years ago. No one has won the trophy more often.
Let us add that Willian Dorn became a Norilsk Nickel player during the last season. As part of the polar team, he managed to play 14 matches and, by the end of the season, was among the goalkeepers of the Russian Super League who saved the largest number of penalties – three.
As we wrote, Willian Dorn was previously recognized as the best futsal goalkeeper in the world. We also reported that, following the results of the opening three rounds of the Russian championship, Norilsk Nickel is in third place in the tournament table. In the League Cup, the Norilsk team, having defeated their opponents in the first round, reached the Final Eight.
