#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk team took second place in the Russian futsal championship among Pari-Superleague clubs. In the third game of the playoff finals, the Moscow team KPRF (The Communist Party of the Russian Federation) outplayed the Norilsk team – for the ‘communists’ this victory was the third.
In the decisive series, the capital’s team beat Norilsk Nickel 3:0. The third match of the series took place in Norilsk and ended with the score 3:1. In third place is Gazprom-Ugra.
The team’s head coach Evgeny Kuksevich thanked the players who did not give up, and noted that this season the athletes, despite the difficulties, showed quite good results.
“The guys are very upset because we were striving for more. Nevertheless, this season for the team can be set off. The medals we have won are for the fans. This is a step forward. In the future, we can set even bigger goals and go to them with our heads held high.”
According to the coach, the northerners did not have enough strength – the rivals were stronger. Yevgeny Kuksevich mentioned that the goalkeeper played well at the last stage. We tried to win back with a power play, but the opponent was charged to win.
“I have not seen such an aura, atmosphere and such a number of fans for a long time. Many thanks to them. Everything is done for them”, the speaker emphasized.
The FC Norilsk Nickel goalkeeper Artem Shevchenko also thanked the fans:
“We felt them, we heard them and partly due to them we made the result. As for today’s match, it’s hard to say something. We hoped to win a trophy. In all games we were not inferior, but apparently we were missing something. Nevertheless, this is also an experience that will benefit us. Second place is also a result”.
Earlier, we talked about the series between Norilsk Nickel and Gazprom. Also, the country’s first futsal tournament of generations was held in Norilsk.
