#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A team from the Fab Lab of the centralized library system and a Norilsk eleventh-grader Ernest Kashapov won the photography competition titled Scientists and Engineers – Creators of a New World Order in the category Inventor of Comfortable Living.
According to the culture department of the Nornickel administration, Fab Lab specialist and photographer Anton Terehov captured a photo of young inventor Ernest Kashapov with his mentors, Alexey Zemlyansky and Ismail Bayramov. Together, they brought Ernest’s project to life by creating a device for colorful 3D printing.
At Fab Lab-Norilsk, they mentioned that they discovered the competition through a social media post by Denis Kasymov, a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, with whom they had been friends for several years. He had been a guest at the Masterfest held in norilsk.
“We’ve known Ernest for quite a while too; he’s a seasoned IMAKE participant who has worked with our specialists on various inventions, not just the colorful 3D printing device. He has also consulted us about other prototypes. However, I have to say that the colorful 3D printing device was the most complex. As Ernest grows, his ideas become more sophisticated. Last spring, he collaborated closely with our specialists, and in the summer, he traveled to Taiwan, where his invention received well-deserved recognition”, said Ksenia Pirogova, a specialist in the Fab Lab department.
It’s worth noting that Ernest Kashapov, who presented his multicolor 3D printing device, won a gold medal at the international exhibition of young inventors IEYI-2024 in Taipei, Taiwan. The 17-year-old’s device will allow for the automatic coloring of filament used in multicolor 3D printing.
Over the past five years of participating in IMAKE, Ernest has won the competition multiple times and has presented his inventions at international contests on two occasions.
