#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In the northern capital of Russia, The Best Bus Driver professional skill competition was held. Among 80 participants from all over our country there are two Norilsk residents: Sergey Kurachenkov competed in the category of Large Bus Driver, and Georgy Nevidimov – in the Medium Capacity Bus category.
For the first time, three representatives of the weak sex fought for the title of the best specialist in their field. The prize fund of the competition was one million rubles. Competitions were held on buses LiAZ-4292 and LiAZ-5292.
The drivers competed in skill for three days: they had to show their knowledge of traffic rules, go through the high-speed maneuvering track and test for driving quality.
“Probably the most difficult and interesting competition stage for me was the comfortable driving module. They put a glass of water in the salon, and the leader was determined by the amount of the remaining liquid”, Sergey Kurachenkov shared his impressions.
The Norilsk residents showed themselves at a high level in the competition. They did not enter the top three winners in each of the categories, but on the other hand, they gained experience and managed to communicate with colleagues from other regions.
“Of course, it’s not bad to be among the 80 best Russian drivers”, said Georgy Nevidimov.
The organizers of the competition were the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Research Institute of Automobile Transport, the Government of St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg State Unitary Enterprise Passazhiravtotrans within the framework of the national project Safe High-Quality Roads.
