#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Violetta Povarnitsyna, a first-year piano student at the Norilsk College of Arts, has been awarded first prize at the international musicians’ competition Cup of China and Russia.
This creative contest is part of the main events planned for the Cross-Year of Culture between Russia and China, taking place in 2024 and 2025.
Violetta hails from the village of Dikson and was previously recognized as a winner in the regional competition Young Talents of Taimyr.
In January of this year, she participated in the filming of a trailer for Tamara Zinberg’s book Seventh Symphony, which is dedicated to the Siege of Leningrad, alongside her classmate Matvey Baryshov. The project, organized by the Sasha Petryaev children’s library, commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
Violetta’s success in the international competition Cup of China and Russia is a proud moment not just for her, but also for her teacher, Natalia Polenova.
