A new attraction has appeared on the Dudinka embankment square – a monument to the Frontier Guards of the Far North.
The sculpture was placed in the Living Memory alley, created by the Dudinka residents in the year of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the area of the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore. The central place of the composition was taken by the border post donated to the city by the Norilsk veterans during a solemn meeting timed to coincide with the 101st anniversary of the Russian Border Troops formation. The sculpture of a border guard with a dog is installed next to the main symbol of the state borders protection.
Mars Gainutdinov, the president of the Yamaldorstroy enterprise, a Border Troops of the KGB of the USSR foreman in reserve, provided assistance in creating the new attraction in Dudinka. As Mars Gainutdinov notes, the opening of the monument is a tribute to the memory of the courage and heroism of senior comrades, their selfless service to their motherland both during the war and in peacetime, it is a recognition of the special merits of all generations of our borders defenders.
