#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel company in the territories of presence – in Norilsk, Taimyr municipal district, Monchegorsk, Pechenga district of the Murmansk region, Chita, Gazimuro-Zavodsky district – is launching a competition for young inventors IMAKE 2021. Schoolchildren from 10 to 17 years old can become participants.
As a reminder, the competition has been running since 2018 and is a project of the Innovation direction (now the Create direction) of the World of New Opportunities Nornickel’s corporate charitable program.
The competition will start on February 27 at the IMAKE Morning Show – presentations with the participation of the winners of the competition for young inventors of previous years and participants in the science camp in the Moscow region. The competition is designed to attract the attention of young people to research and inventive activity, as well as to help enthusiastic schoolchildren realize their ideas and demonstrate them to society.
The presentation will take place at the Zoom site. You can connect to the conference individually, in schools, clubs, technical creativity studios.
To participate in the correspondence stage of the competition, you need to come up with an idea for a useful invention within one of five thematic categories, create any illustration of the invention, add a slogan to it that reveals the idea. In addition, the participant should record a video in which he’s talking about his invention, and together with the illustration, post it on one of the social networks VKontakte, Facebook, Instagram with the hashtag #imake2021.
Schoolchildren have to fill in the application on the official website with the invention description. The competition terms and conditions can also be found there. Invention ideas are accepted until March 25. In April, the contestants will be trained with a public speaking coach for the presentation of projects, and will also meet with him in an intensive lesson two days before the defense.
At the second stage, they will have to defend their projects – to speak to the commission with a short presentation and prototype demonstration. Based on the results of the jury, the six strongest projects will be selected, the authors of which will be invited to participate in the project school for free. There the guys will study English and public speaking. Upon graduation from the project school, the jury members will decide on the participation of each student in the International Exhibition of Young Inventors as part of the Russian delegation.
