#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr College hosts the International Forum Profi-2020: Smart Technologies for the Development of the Arctic: From Idea to Implementation. For three days, students have been participating in the Worldskills Russia 2020, ArcticSkills-2020 and Abilympics professional skills competitions.
As Tatiana Rybakova, the college teacher, told the This Is Taimyr, the forum brought together 51 students from different regions online and offline.
“Norilsk, Naryan-Mar participate in the video-conference mode and representatives of the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia and Evenkia do it in person. The forum is held annually, this year due to the epidemic situation it was postponed from April to December. We plan to hold the next one in April 2021”, the interlocutor explained.
Young professionals show themselves in various competencies: artistic embroidery, artistic carving on bone and horn, physical culture and sports, teacher of a nomadic school, cook business, reindeer breeder-machine operator and others.
So, on December 3, the reindeer-breeder-machine operator competence competition was held in the tundra on the basis of the Laphey training and production center. The guys showed the ability to weave mauts, harness reindeer and prepare camping dishes from northern fish.
Today the jury members will have to choose the winners in all competencies. According to Tatyana Rybakova, the closing of the Profi-2020 forum and the awarding ceremony for the best representatives of the Arctic specialties will take place on December 4.
