#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The publication Mushrooms of the Northern Forest will include 12 representatives of the amazing nature kingdom, recorded in the area of lakes Lama, Sobachye and Ayan. The idea to make a set of postcards belongs to the Taimyr Nature Reserves directorate. During the summer-autumn expeditions, the employees accumulated photographs on a mushroom theme.

During the selection process, a problem arose with determining the species of mushrooms, so they turned to an expert, the famous mycologist Olga Kryuchkova, for advice, they said in the Reserves.
Based on the photo, the most valuable specimen for the North was identified – a marsupial fungus of the Neolecta genus. Another unfamiliar specimen, Pluteus, a genus of little-studied small lamellar fungi, caused heated discussion; its species can only be determined using a microscope.
“The remaining photos show well-known mushrooms of the genera obabok, oiler, lacticaria, russula, puffball, fly agaric, as well as the tinder fungus, which is widespread in the Taimyr forests – a parasitic mushroom, it belongs to the group of tubular mushrooms that settle on living trees”, specialists note.
A set of postcards as souvenirs will be a wonderful gift for active participants in nature reserve events and competitions in 2024.
