#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The winter session of IMAKE Camp was held from January 20 to 26 at the Skoltech campus, bringing together 56 participants from the Murmansk region, Zabaykalsk and Krasnoyarsk territories, and Moscow. This year’s camp once again highlighted the incredible potential of young inventors.
Participants engaged in hands-on projects under the mentorship of graduates from the IMAKE engineering marathon and Skoltech experts. In addition to project work, attendees developed essential skills through workshops, lectures, and excursions.
“This is my first time at IMAKE Camp, and I can’t express how excited I am. I’ve made new friends, explored fascinating inventions, and experienced an unforgettable atmosphere. In just one week, it feels like we’ve lived a lifetime: from workshops and lectures by a professor and the rector of Skoltech to games that enhance our critical and creative thinking, fireside chats with mentors, the thrill of presenting, and the joy of successfully defending our projects”, shared Vasilisa Skopylatova, a maker from Snezhnogorsk.
Participants collaborated on projects in teams, as reported by Nornickel on social media. They learned to research their target audience, create prototypes, and effectively present their ideas. At the end of the camp, each team defended their project before a panel of experts, which included representatives from Skoltech and specialists from Nornickel.
Following the presentations, a shortlist for the IMAKE young inventors competition was announced. This list will be expanded after the next IMAKE Camp, scheduled from February 19 to March 11 in Vladivostok. In the final round of the competition, five outstanding projects will be selected to represent the camp at an international invention exhibition in Osaka, Japan, in August 2025.
