#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The United Aircraft Corporation has resumed testing the Il-114-300 passenger aircraft. The vessel should replace the An-24 in regional transportation, including for operation in difficult climatic conditions. The plane can accommodate 68 passengers.
The first flight lasted 40 minutes, took place at altitudes of up to 900 meters and at speeds of up to 230 kilometers per hour. The flight went smoothly. The company’s press service said that the crew and engineers checked the stability and controllability of the vessel, as well as the operation of Russian systems and equipment. The aircraft was developed by specialists from PJSC Il, and final assembly of the aircraft is carried out at the plant in Luhovitsy near Moscow.
The new Il-114-300 has improved flight performance, increased the use of composite materials, installed a new digital flight navigation system, improved almost all the main systems, and special attention was paid to improving the cockpit ergonomics.
The vessel will be able to operate autonomously from relatively small airfields with both concrete and dirt surfaces. In addition, it is planned to use it in Arctic regions. The aircraft is equipped with a TV7-117ST-01 engine, which has undergone a series of modifications. A new TA 14-114 auxiliary power unit has also been installed, which will ensure the aircraft’s autonomy during maintenance and preparation for flight at poorly equipped airfields.
There is a large amount of certification work ahead, including flight tests.
Let us remind you that serial production of all-terrain vehicles has been launched in the Krasnoyarsk region. This Is Taimyr also wrote that Russian manufacturers presented a bus for work in the Arctic.
