#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Tentative flooding of the berths with an elevation of 8 meters is expected on May 25, the passage of the ice drift in the Dudinka area is expeted on June 4. These are preliminary data, they can vary – plus or minus three days. The flood peak is expected at 15.5-17.5 meters.
At the same time, according to the Central Siberian Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the winter in the Yenisey basin was cold and snowy. The territory of the south of the municipal district was characterized by abnormally low air temperatures. The thickness of the ice on the river in the Dudinka area is 135-138 centimeters, which is 10-20 centimeters more than the average long-term values. The situation is complicated by the fact that many islands with shallow sections of the river from Igarka to Ust-Port contribute to the constant formation of congestion. The village of Levinskiye Peski is under the threat of flooding, where 89 people are officially registered, but actually 45 people live. An air-cushion vessel will be used to evacuate them, and, if necessary, a Mi-8 helicopter.
