#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Taimyr, an ice crossing was put into operation across the Dudinka river, from the zero berth to the Dudinka landing site. The ferry, 450 meters long and 12 meters wide, is used to transport passengers from the airport landing site.
Measurements of the ice showed that its thickness is 50 centimeters and is suitable for the passage of light vehicles weighing up to five tons.
In addition, last week the ice crossing began on the Dikson island – Dikson settlement. It will provide transport links between the island and mainland parts of Dikson. The northernmost ice road is 5.4 kilometers long and 20 meters wide. Permissible loads have been established: for wheeled vehicles it’s 3.8 tons, for tracked vehicles – 4.7 tons.
