The Norilsktransgaz enterprise opens a closed-type ice crossing for traffic along the route: the zero berth of the Dudinka river – the right bank of the Yenisey river – the Yenisey river – Kabatsky island – the Kabatskaya channel – the left bank of the Kabatskaya channel.
The facility will operate from 8:00 to 23:00 until May 20, 2023.
“The permitted load for traffic is: for wheeled vehicles – 30 tons, for caterpillar vehicles – 50 tons”, the experts said.
It is necessary to move along the crossing in one row, the distance between cars must be at least 150 meters, and the speed should not exceed ten kilometers per hour. It’s important to go along the crossing without shocks and braking and move slowly without stops and jerks. Car doors must be opened and seat belts unfastened.
“Cars of the fire brigade, ambulance, police, traffic police, special and emergency services, when they perform urgent service tasks, will be first to go”, the experts explained.
On the ice crossing it is strictly forbidden to punch holes for fishing, stop, overtake, turn around and refuel cars, as well as drive into fog or blizzard. Before starting, regular buses and cars must drop off passengers.
In addition, it is forbidden to use the crossing when a rut appears on the ice filled with water at a great distance, when through cracks with a width of more than 15 centimeters and a large extent form, when the thickness and strength of ice decrease, when ice breaks. Pedestrian moving is not allowed on the crossing.
