Hatanga seaport turns 85

March 01, 2024

During this time, the pier has become a modern logistics center for transporting goods to the Far North.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. On February 28, 1939, the USSR government decided to organize a River Agency on the Hatanga river. The organization of a water transport enterprise in the village of Hatanga contributed to the significant economic growth of this area.

In 1952, a sea vessel entered Hatanga for the first time, which created the prerequisites for the formation of a large seaport, since with the beginning of the constant calling of sea vessels with cargo, the question arose of organizing their processing and servicing.

In 1954, the river port was transformed into an Arctic seaport. Its ships deliver cargo to the Far North. The geography of the company’s international maritime transportation includes the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the seas of Western and Northern Europe, the Azov-Black sea basin and the Far East.

The seaport has a modern Arctic-class fleet that meets the requirements of all international conventions and is capable of operating at shallow depths. It is permanently based in the port of Hatanga in the middle of the Northern Sea Route, which is planned to become a global transport corridor for international transport by 2030.
