#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In honor of the New Year, Christmas trees are installed in the enclosures of the Krasnoyarsk zoo. To appease the symbol of 2021, the bison tree was decorated with carrots, beets and apples.
“This difficult year will end soon, and the bull will replace the rat. The animal is sedate and decent. Judging by the Chinese horoscope, he loves and knows how to work, keeps his word. They promise that in the coming year everything will be fine, no one will be sick and everyone will be happy. According to the omens, the Year of the Ox will be fruitful, no major natural disasters, floods, earthquakes or droughts are expected”, the zoo says.
The audience’s favorites, the white bears Felix, Ursula and Martha, have a New Year tree installed in each aviary, where the clubfoot’s favorite treats are used as decorations. In addition to meat and fish, bears love fresh herbs, fruits, especially pears, grapes and apples, as well as vegetables – carrots and beets. They eat cottage cheese, berries frozen in ice with pleasure. All these delicacies were used to decorate the Christmas trees in the bear enclosures.
All the bears of the Krasnoyarsk Zoo were rescued from the wild Arctic nature.
By the way, the bears’ tree is not just a New Year tree, but also a birthday one. It is impossible to say exactly when the orphaned cubs have birthdays. After all, a mother bear stays in the birth den for almost five months and only in the spring comes out with the cubs that are already grown up.
“According to data obtained in zoos, cubs are born in late November – December. Therefore, the New Year greetings coincided with the celebration of the birthday of our pets”, – the zoo specialists say.
