#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation has begun construction of four ships of project 03182R. They are involved in complex oceanographic research in the Arctic.

The state contract for the construction of four ships for the Arctic was signed in July 2022, RIA Novosti reports citing Ak Bars Corporation CEO Renat Mistahov. The vessels will have high seaworthiness, high autonomy and comfortable living conditions, the navigation area will be unlimited. Displacement – not less than four thousand tons, length – about 100 meters, width – about 16 meters.

The Northern Sea Route is the only sea route in the Arctic between Europe and Asia. Fully under the jurisdiction of Russia

Research ships with the functionality of reconnaissance ships of the project 03182R are being built on the sea tanker 03182 project basis, developed at the Zelenodolsk design bureau. They are designed for complex oceanographic studies of the World Ocean and the shelf zone and adapted to the Arctic conditions.
