The day before, the residents of Norilsk shared photos of the first snow on social networks. A white blanket covered the area and the highway.
“Winter is coming”, users write on social networks and share pictures of snow-covered streets, highways, mountaintops and lawns.
It snowed in Kayerkan the day before, but the residents of the central part and Talnah did see a full snowfall. In the city, however, ‘white flies’ flew, but they melted immediately as soon as they met the ground.
In 2019, the townspeople recorded the first snow much earlier – on September 10. Moreover, bad weather hit the city, forcing the students to stay at home, and the airport – to delay several flights.
Today it is about +2 degrees in Norilsk. According to Gismeteo forecasts, the week will be snowy: daily precipitation is promised. In addition, it will become much colder – the week will end with subzero temperatures both at night and during the day.
But this fall is a sin to complain at: it was warm, with a short, but real Indian summer. And summer 2020 in the North was the hottest on record.
