#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. According to Aleksey Novakov, Nornickel’s Polar Transport Branch, director in 2021 all the tasks set by the company for the Dudinka port have been fulfilled.
In summer navigation, cargo turnover increased significantly. There are more ships in the maritime sector.
In 2022, a significant increase in cargo turnover is expected as well – up to four million tons or more.
A new container terminal will appear at the river berths of the production and transshipment complex No. 1.
In 2022, invited specialists are coming who will work on a rotational basis. Dormitories are ready for them, and in the near future two more temporary residential complexes for 400 people will be built. Additionally, a large dining room will appear. In Dudinka, a new medical center design has been completed, it will receive the first patients this year.
In 2022, the Dudinka seaport will celebrate its 85th anniversary. Delivery of 14 portal cranes is planned for the anniversary year. In just seven years, they plan to replace 35 cranes. The entire fleet of vehicles replenishment and modernization will continue.
The anniversary celebration is scheduled for September 17th. The port of Dudinka was singled out as an independent unit in November 1937, but for a long time December 1944 was considered its birthday. Ten years ago, in 2012, the port celebrated its 75th anniversary ‘according to the new style’ counting from the day when the Norilskstroy head Vladimir Matveyev ordered to organize the Dudinka Freight Expedition of the Transport Department.
In the coming year, the Nornickel’s Polar Transport Branch’s round date coincides with the anniversary of Dudinka, which has been counting down since 1667.
