#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. City lake, which has recently become popular with large landscaping projects, has come to life and acquired its own inhabitants. A whole brood of ducklings with a duck mother appeared here.
When and where they came from, no one can say for sure. However, it is reliably known that ducks with offspring appear in the city center not for the first time. For them, kind people even built a house here – they fixed it right on an old cable reel that was once abandoned near the shore.
According to a special project of the Norilsk Development Agency, it was decided to clean up lake Gorodskoye (eng.: City lake), improve it and create a whole recreation park here with water sports and entertainment. Two large-scale clean-up days (last year and this year) and rowing competitions have already been held here.
So far, the full implementation of the project is far away, but the attitude of local residents to the reservoir in the middle of the residential area has changed: they are trying to protect it now. Therefore, the birds are comfortable, the duck brood is not afraid of people, equipment, and even loud sounds.
Ducks are happy to be fed by local residents, although, apparently, they have enough food in their natural habitat – whole schools of fry are now splashing on the shallows near the shore.
Pigeons and sparrows traditionally hang out here, dogs try to swim, and sometimes even some representatives of the human race. Those who want to sit on the shore in warm weather bring food for birds, who try to steal it in the most shameless way from a gaping citizen. Looks like a water truce according to Kipling.
