In 2021, 4.5 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the Arctic. This was announced by Nikolay Haritonov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Regional Policy and Problems of the North and the Far East.
“Funding for 2021 will amount to 4.5 billion, for 2022 it will be 6.6 billion rubles, in 2023 – 6.5 billion rubles”, the committee’s press service quotes Haritonov.
According to him, all the attention of the relevant departments is aimed at increasing funding for programs for the development of the Arctic.
“Through the Security Council, ministries, departments, everything is directed to strengthen state attention and state funding for this Arctic direction”, the parliamentarian concluded.
May we remind you, that the President of the country signed a decree on the foundations of state policy in the Arctic zone until 2035.
