ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Ol-Gul ski base is gradually being transformed into an all-season sports and tourist complex. Now, within the framework of the Aquatoria-Norilsk project, which won the World of New Opportunities charity program of Nornickel, a beach is being set up on the territory of the base.
Until September 15, the steep shores of lake Ol-Gul are terraced, and a binocular will be installed to explore the surroundings.
“The remaining materials will come to us one of these days, and the work that we have foreseen this year will be completed by September 15th. It is planned that sun loungers will be placed on the terrace, and fresh, clean sand will be delivered to the shore. We wanted to bring it by September, but, perhaps, it would be advisable to do it by the next summer season”, told the ski base director Polina Kiseleva.
Now, on the Ol-Gul Lake, it is allowed to relax and sunbathe on the shore, which was cleared last year, to go paddling, but swimming is officially prohibited. However, the Norilsk people often ignore this requirement.
“Initially, there was a lot of rubbish on the shore, but we removed it. They also carried out an examination, which showed that the water meets the SanPin standards. Since a lot of time has passed, we are planning to conduct another similar examination. We hope that lake Ol-Gul will become the only body of water in Norilsk where you can swim. At the moment, people swim in it at their own peril and risk”, said the interlocutor.
As a reminder, the work is carried out in partnership with the Norilsk Development Agency, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Arctic Circle and the sports department of the Norilsk administration.
Earlier we wrote that a park of art objects appeared based on Ol-Gul.
