#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The youth parliament of the Evenki Municipal District initiated the establishment of this holiday. The Evenki district council of deputies supported the idea.
The first events organized for this day took place in 2012. The main goal of the memorable date is to preserve and popularize the unique nature of Evenkia in the territory of traditional residence of the indigenous small people – the Evenks, and to promote the development of eco- and ethnotourism.
Evenkia nature is unique and unpopular, since it is not easy to get there. But everyone who has ever walked on Siberian soil will remember the beauty and uniqueness of its landscapes for a long time. The lakes of those places are also amazing.
Lake Vivi is located in the southwestern part of the Putorana plateau on the territory of Evenkia and is still poorly studied, for example, its maximum depth is unknown. Vivi, like the lakes Nyakshingda, Agata, Severnoye, is a fissure lake. Due to tectonic movements of the earth’s crust, all these lakes have deepened. Almost perpendicular to their former directions, new deep cracks have appeared, which is why these lakes have angular outlines.
The Podkamennaya Tunguska river, which was previously called Katanga, also flows through Evenkia, on the banks of which the majestic rocky Pillars are immortalized.
It is also worth noting that the loon is sacred to the Evenks, since, according to legend, it brought a particle of soil from the bottom of the ocean in its beak to the good spirit Havenka. From this particle, the earth was created – modern Evenkia.
