#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. During the Arctic Territories Development Materials session at the Future Technologies Forum, Marat Eseyev, the scientific director of the world-class scientific and educational center Russian Arctic at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, highlighted the Arctic’s unique potential. He stated that the region offers an opportunity to observe the immediate effects of technology implementation, according to reports from TASS.
“The Arctic serves as a distinctive mega-laboratory where we can test new materials and technologies across various sectors”, Eseyev noted. “Furthermore, the Arctic is a critical location to witness the direct impact of these technologies, particularly in areas such as mineral resource extraction and the development of the Northern Sea Route’s transport infrastructure”.
Eseyev also emphasized that the Russian Arctic center, established in 2020, has already developed several innovative technologies and materials.
“These include promising advancements in measuring equipment, such as robotic systems designed to measure the internal diameters of pipelines”, he added. “Additionally, we are working on various infrastructure projects aimed at Arctic development”.
The Future Technologies Forum has been hosted in Moscow since 2023. In 2025, it will be held with the support of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Science Foundation, and the Russian Quantum Center.
