Over the past 24 hours, the water level in the Yenisey near the Arctic capital has risen by 207 centimeters.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. According to the Taimyr administration’s Civil Defense and Emergency Situations Department, today from 04:05 to 04:20 ice movement was recorded on the Yenisey river in the Dudinka area. During the day and night, the water level increased by 207 centimeters and at 9 a.m. on May 30 amounted to 12 meters 58 centimeters.

Its edge is now located between Igarka and the village of Potapovo, 130 kilometers from Dudinka. In the village of Potapovo, ice movement has been observed since 7 am.

Specialists from the district department for civil and emergency situations recommend refraining from going to water bodies, as well as removing property from the shoreline of the Yenisey and Dudinka rivers.

Traditionally, for northerners, ice drift is a time for beautiful photo shoots against the backdrop of blue ice.
