#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. By the end of 2024, the country plans to begin operating 58 permafrost monitoring points, the head of the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet) Igor Shumakov reported.
He recalled that Roshydromet monitors the state of permafrost and is creating a state system for such monitoring.
“In 2023, we built and commissioned 20 observation points in five constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and this year we plan to commission 58 more”, Igor Shumakov told TASS.
