56 million rubles were allocated to support small and medium-sized tourist businesses in the Krasnoyarsk region. The industry has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic. The competition for the development of domestic and inbound tourism grants starts today, July 29.
36 million rubles will be allocated from the regional budget to reimburse the costs of tour operators and travel agents, and about 20 million will be donated in the form of grants for the implementation of tourism development projects.
“Travel companies will be reimbursed for the costs incurred in the period from March 1 to June 30, 2020. Subsidies are provided in the amount of office rent, utilities and banking services, as well as payment for communication services and civil liability insurance contracts, but not more than 100 thousand rubles for tour operators and not more than 50 thousand rubles for travel agents”, the regional tourism agency said.
Individual entrepreneurs and legal entities can participate in the competition. The winners have the right to count on the state support for their projects in the amount of up to half a million rubles.

The Arctic has significant potential for tourism development. Although the pandemic has disrupted the industry, tourism in the Russian Arctic has grown in 2019, with 1.17 million tourists visiting it, five percent more than in 2018.
