September 11, 2020

In Taimyr, the police took 16 alive Siberian sturgeons out of poaching nets.

The tackle was found by a mobile group while patrolling the Yenisey 98 kilometers from Dudinka. The police noticed buoys on the water. The Red Book fish turned out to be alive, and it was released into the river. Thus, about 2.6 million rubles damage to nature was prevented.

The check upon the illegal tackle with the catch detection is underway.

Earlier, the police detained a suspect in the illegal catch of Siberian sturgeons in the Taimyr peninsula. The damage amounted to over 1.1 million rubles. The offender faces up to three years in prison.
