ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. As part of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) development, it is planned to develop a program for the ice-class cargo ships construction until 2035. This was reported by the Eastern Economic Forum magazine.
In addition, a decision was made to build 153 ships for the Arctic, including 12 icebreakers and 46 rescue ships.
It is also planned to develop the nuclear fleet infrastructure, the system of supervision over its safe operation, improve the technologies for the nuclear power ships disposal and nuclear waste.
Earlier, the largest non-nuclear icebreaker was tested in the Arctic, and a nuclear-powered lighter carrier returned from a test voyage along the Northern Sea Route.
