#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. During the first week of work in Hatanga, members of the Russian Geographical Society expedition (RGS) removed more than 100 tons of man-made waste, cleaning more than eight square kilometers. 16 heavy dump trucks were required to remove the metal structures.
A temporary storage facility has been allocated for the waste; in the future it is planned to send it for recycling.
In the next stage of the All-Russian ecological expedition of the Russian Geographical Society to clean up the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation from man-made pollution Arctic Spring-Cleaning: Krasnoyarsk Region involves volunteers from 16 regions of the country.
