1.8 billion tons of cargo to be transported along Northern Sea Route

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. During 2024–2035, the total cargo flow along the Northern Sea Route is going to amount to 1.8 billion tons, deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation – plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation president in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev stated.

This year it should be 71 million tons, he noted.

The increase in the volume of traffic along the Northern Sea Route will occur including through the organization of year-round navigation, TASS reports.
