Arctic needs to be met

August 27, 2020

More than 50 enterprises of St. Petersburg will produce goods for the Arctic.

51 enterprises of the Northern capital signed contracts for 700 million rubles with eight regions of the Arctic, including the Krasnoyarsk region. This was reported by the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs.

“The contracts were made based on the results of open tender procedures organized in April-July this year. The participation of St. Petersburg companies in those tenders was the result of the monitoring carried out by the committee of the needs of the Arctic regions of Russia in goods, works and services that are in demand for the development of the Arctic”, the statement says.

Organizations in the fields of shipbuilding, healthcare, transport infrastructure, landscaping and ecology became the winners of the competitions.

In addition to the Krasnoyarsk region, the organizations from the Arhangelsk and Murmansk regions, the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous districts, Karelia, the Komi and Sakha Republics have entered into agreements with St. Petersburg enterprises.

Earlier two large passenger ships were constructed by the Sredne-Nevsky plant for the Krasnoyarsk region.
