For example, a geneticist Igor Panshin, the future honorary citizen of the city, metallurgist and sportsman Valery Derevtsov, and many others were fond of mountain skiing. Pavel Bunigin, the author of photographs from competitions of alpine skiers half a century ago was a famous athlete. On a May day in 1971, the artist-designer put on skis to film the team of skiers of the Zapolyarnik sports club. Performing the task of the management, the sportsman-photographer with a camera in his hands accompanied the participants of the competition.
It was not possible to establish exactly who won these races, but it is known for certain that the fans of skiing and alpine skiing have only increased from year to year. Especially when tourist centers began to appear on both sides of the Norilsk-Talnah road.
