#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The materials donated to the museum relate to different historical periods in the life of the territory. Each exhibit reflects the history of the Taimyr region.
Thus, the rare book collection includes publications of works by the founders of stratigraphic, oil, quaternary geology and neotectonics, geophysical and tectonic schools, works by employees of the Arctic Geology Research Institute and the mining and geological administration of the Northern Sea Route main directorate, as well as a publication of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Photographs, documents, and personal items belonging to lawyer, candidate for deputy of the Russian Federation State Duma from Taimyr, deputy minister of science and higher education of the Russian Federation Pyotr Kucherenko (1977–2023) have become part of the museum collection. On May 16, 2024, Dudinka school No. 4 was named after him. The archive was donated by his sister, Alexandra Komleva, the museum noted.
The documentary fund and photo fund were also replenished with the archive of the well-known Taimyr journalist Albion Brechalov. The archive includes texts of radio broadcasts of Taimyr radio, covering important events that took place in Taimyr from the 1970s to the 1990s, as well as photographs by famous photojournalists of the peninsula.
