Now the reindeer in Taimyr is the king of animals. It is the wealth of the northerners, and transport, and food.
The reindeer took part in the Great Patriotic War, they were used on the Karelian front, where cars could not pass. From 1941 to 1944, with the help of reindeer transport, more than 17 thousand tons of ammunition and other goods were delivered to the battlefield, about eight thousand soldiers and officers were transported, more than ten thousand wounded and sick were removed from the battlefield.
