#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The first gas pipeline Messoyakha – Norilsk became a reality in December 1970. Two years later, the first torch was lit at the new Yuzhno-Soleninsky gas field.

Ten years after Yuzhno-Soleninsky, in December 1982, as the newspapers of that time wrote, “the darkness of the polar night was lit up” by the first torch of the Severo-Soleninsky field. It was the largest of the three gas fields developed by that time, but its reserves were enough for the Norilsk only for two decades.
