#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The idea came from two Komsomol secretaries: Igor Aristov from Norilsk and Oleg Kolesnichenko from Krasnoyarsk.
The ceremony of opening the stone with the promise to build in its place ‘an obelisk that always reminds of the heroic deeds of the Norilsk people who conquered the tundra, who created our city and combine’ took place in the spirit of the times: with an orchestra and pioneers.
The guests from the capital who presented the Order of the Red Banner of Labor to the Norilsk Komsomol were satisfied. The promised monument appeared only last year – 54 years later. The historical gabbro-diabase, which had been lying in the center of Gvardeiskaya square for more than half a century, has also become its component.
In the last issue of the History spot photo project, we talked about the fact that the Norilsk drama theater would celebrate two anniversaries this year.
