#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The municipal district’s acting head Pavel Tomchik congratulated the birthday man on his 87th birthday. On behalf of the Taimyr head and on his own behalf Alexey Chlenov also thanked him for his work for the municipal district’s benefit and presented him a memorable gift.
Mikhail Degtyarev was born in 1938 in the Belarusian village of Kalinovaya. After finishing school, he came to the North, worked as a trapper on Kolosov Island in the Dikson district. Despite the harsh climatic conditions, he always achieved high results in catching white foxes, fur sales, improved the fishing technology and shared his experience with young trappers, according to the Taimyr administration’s telegram channel.
Mikhail Degtyarev has a total work experience of 48 years, 46 of which are in Taimyr.
“During his entire career, Mikhail Grigorievich was repeatedly awarded honorary certificates, including certificates from Rospotrebsoyuz in 1962–1963. For success in hunting, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1965, and the jubilee medal For Valiant Labor, in Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of V.I. Lenin’s Birth in 1970”, the press service of the municipal district administration notes.
We will add that the title Taimyr Honorary Citizen was awarded to Mikhail Degtyarev in 2003.
