#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. By a decree from president Vladimir Putin, Sergey Zhiganov, the director of the Arctic cinema and leisure center, has been awarded a letter of appreciation for his contributions to culture and the arts, as well as for his many years of creative work.
Born and raised in Dudinka, Sergey Zhiganov has dedicated his entire life to the Taimyr region. His primary professional focus has been in the cultural sector. For over ten years, Sergey Fyodorovich worked as a guitar teacher at the Dudinka children’s art school. His natural talent and musical skills have allowed him to thrive not only as a vocalist, participating in numerous festive concerts and creative projects, but also as a highly skilled consultant for organizers of cultural and mass events at various levels.
As part of creative teams, he has performed many times in remote villages of Taimyr and at fishing and reindeer herding sites. Approaching his work with passion, he consistently seeks out interesting materials and new ways to present them, while actively promoting the culture of the small indigenous peoples of Taimyr, according to the Dudinka official website.
Since 2003, Sergey Zhiganov has led the Arctic cinema and leisure center, from its inception. Much of the center’s success can be attributed to his professionalism and tireless energy. Arctic has become not just the only film screening venue in Taimyr but also a high-tech, multifunctional cultural center offering a wide range of services for people of all ages and backgrounds – from esports to performances by renowned Russian artists.
In Sergey Fyodorovich’s portfolio of awards, he has got several accolades, including a letter of appreciation from the governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, a thank-you letter from the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk region, an honorary diploma from the governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, as well as the honorary badge For Merit to Taimyr, the title Honored Worker of Taimyr, and other awards from local government bodies.
