#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. At the Dudinka theater studio White Birds, supported by the Nornickel’s charitable program World of New Opportunities, a project called Family Musical is being realized. The project’s goal is to bring Taimyr families together through creative activities, giving them the chance to perform in a production written specifically for them and to create unforgettable memories through their collaboration on stage.
The family project Musical: The Family in the Leading Role is nearing its conclusion, featuring eight families from the polar capital, three of which are large families. This initiative fosters family bonding, helps unlock their potential, allows them to experience new emotions, and provides previously unknown stage experiences.
“This project is not just about organizing leisure activities for families in our city; we also offer opportunities to gain new creative skills and acquire valuable experiences – educational and emotional – for everyone interested”, said project leader Marina Petrakova.
Additionally, as part of the project, several events have been organized for those looking to engage in theatrical arts. For example, during the workshop titled 6:0 in Favor of Grandma, participants learned how to organize a celebration for elderly family members.
On Friday, February 14, a workshop called Fairy Tale Therapy and Music in a Child’s Life will be held at the Taimyr Local History Museum. Psychologist Irina Osheva will lead an interactive lecture for all interested attendees. The evening will also feature a virtual meeting with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic.
In March, the premiere will take place. The musical People and Robbers from Cardamom, based on a fairy tale by Norwegian writer T. Egner, will debut. The musical score is created by young Moscow composer Mark Makhnuk, and the director is project leader Marina Petrakova.
“It’s a fun family show about how to make the world a kinder place through our own efforts”, shared Marina Petrakova.
The large-scale project will wrap up in the spring, not only with the final performance of the musical but also with a sports event, as many participants are also involved in sports, according to Marina Petrakova.
