#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. An all-Russian action of mutual assistance #МЫВМЕСТЕ (means: we are together), within the framework of which everyone can offer their help or ask for it, organized by the DOBRO.RU platform, the All-Russian Popular Front, the Volunteers of Medicine all-Russian public movement and the Association of Volunteer Centers. Norilsk youth also did not stand aside, having organized the We are Together headquarters in the city.
Delivery of groceries to elderly people who are at home, help in hospitals, household help to people in need – this is not a complete list of the daily activities of the Norilsk volunteers.
“Cooperating with the city volunteer headquarters, the We are Together volunteers do a tremendous amount of work,” Denis Koval, head of the We Together volunteer headquarters. – We help deliver gifts for the New Year to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor, orphans and children of doctors, as well as children from low-income and single-parent families, the elderly and people with limited mobility. In addition, now we have thrown all our efforts into restoring the apartment of a large family after the fire – we plan to finish the work by the end of the month so that parents and children can celebrate the New Year at home”.
The pandemic has become not only a difficult period, but also a time of new opportunities to help. To Norilsk residents, guests of the city – to everyone who finds themselves in a difficult life situation.
“An employee of the Vankor oil and gas field, Evgeny, contacted us a week ago. He was urgently taken to the hospital straight from his work place with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and 72% lung damage. The oilman had no acquaintances in Norilsk, so we took patronage over him – delivered household items and food. Evgeny conveyed sincere words of gratitude to the doctors and medical staff of our infectious diseases hospital. Today I took him to the airport. He will celebrate the New Year with his family and loved ones”, said Dmitry Sologub, one of the We are Together volunteer’s organization.
