#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Nornickel head and one of the first private charitable foundations in Russia founder, Vladimir Potanin, became the most charitable businessman in Russia for the third time according to the Kommersant newspaper.
In 2021, Potanin’s name was mentioned in the media next to the words ‘philanthropist’, ‘sponsor’, ‘grant’ 1609 times. The journalists talked about the businessman’s business and charitable projects, in particular, the endowment for 100 billion rubles over the next ten years.
The second and third places in the rating were taken by Alisher Usmanov – 692 mentions in the media and Gennady Timchenko – 589 mentions.
Recall that since 1999 the Vladimir Potanin Charitable Foundation has been supporting NPOs, educational, cultural and sports projects. It has over 40,000 grant recipients and fellows.
Also, according to Kommersant, Vladimir Potanin topped the rating of the most profitable businessmen – 2608 mentions. German Gref is in second place – 2103, in third – Yevgeny Prigozhin, 2070 mentions.
The Nash Norilsk endowment fund was created with the support of Nornickel. It helps non-profit organizations in the field of education, culture, art, healthcare, non-professional sports, and social initiatives. The company invests more than four billion rubles a year in social and sports projects.
