#ARCTIC.#SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Far Northern residents will have more access to tele- and outpatient medicine, including on the small indigenous peoples’ nomadic routes.
The teleconsultations’ number should increase by 2024, and doctors should be ready to provide digital medical care on ships’ board in the Northern Sea Route’s waters. It is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (Eng.: Russian newspaper) with reference to the Ministry of Health.
Doctors’ online consultations are not easily accessible in remote settlements now. Medical aviation and helicopters are used in emergency situations if the weather permits. But generally patients have to get to where there are clinics.
The Ministry of Health is working on the possibility of placing on social infrastructure facilities access points for Arctic residents to doctors’ consultations with the telemedicine technologies’ help. A list of such points and the dates for their start will be provided next year.
Experts will also analyze the possibility of equipping mobile medical complexes with access to the Internet or medical organizations’ data transmission networks when traveling to remote villages.
