#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Reindeer herders of Taimyr with their families returned from a two-week course of sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation treatment at the Yubileiny sanatorium in Zheleznogorsk. This year, 15 people have rested there.
Taimyr reindeer herders have used this support measure for the fourth year in a row. Sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation treatment for them is organized within the Krasnoyarsk region and the Republic of Hakassia. For this, 1.5 million rubles are annually allocated from the regional budget.
This year, six people from the rural settlement of Karaul and nine from the rural settlement of Hatanga, a total of 11 families, visited the sanatorium. In the modern health-improving complex for northerners, programs were provided for the treatment of the spine, joints, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, and respiratory organs.
“It is gratifying that our reindeer herders and their families have the opportunity to relax in the sanatorium absolutely free of charge. Many of them have traveled outside Taimyr for the first time – this is a real adventure for them”, said Elena Sotnikova, the Taimyr Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs and Agriculture and Trade Issues department’s head.
