#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Competitions in Krasnoyarsk were held from 3 to 7 November. As a result, the Taimyr athletes took home one golden, three silver and two bronze medals. Eduard Komarov from the village of Karaul set a new Russian record for jumping over sledges. He made 1333 jumps.
The previous best result was in 2019 – 860 jumps. Moreover, the young man became the second in running with a stick. Together with him, a silver medal in this discipline was won by an athlete from the village of Nosok Yegor Yaptune. He also became a bronze medalist in throwing tynzyan (a harness) on a horey (a long pole used to drive a team of reindeer). Athlete from Khatanga Afanasy Kirgizov added the third silver to the Taimyr team. He finished second in sled jumping.
Another Russian record was set by Pavel Zemtsov. In the past, the pupil of the northern all-around school in the village of Karaul now is training schoolchildren in Krasnoyarsk. At competitions in the triple jump discipline, he showed a result of 12.85 meters.
Eduard Komarov took the third place among all participants in total all-around. In the overall team classification of the championship, the regional team was on the second step of the podium, our team has got the same result in the championship of Russia.
In the northern all-around, there are five disciplines: throwing an ax at a distance, a triple jump with a push off with two feet, running with a stick, throwing tynzyan on a horey and jumping over sledges.
