#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. From June 8 to 10 the Taimyr’s head Evgeny Vershinin takes part in the Sixth international Arctic summit The Arctic: Prospects, Innovations and Region’s Development.
The event is held in St. Petersburg and timed to coincide with the period of Russia’s chairmanship of the Arctic Council, the Year of the Russia’s Peoples’ Cultural Heritage, the Emperor Peter I birth’s 350th anniversary and the Polar Explorer’s Day.
In addition to the region’s head the Taimyr delegation includes his deputy for education and culture Tatyana Druppova, the Taimyr regional deputies’ council’s chairman Vladimir Shishov and the Taimyr college’s head Vera Cherkasova.
Evgeny Vershinin will make a report within the session Russian Federation’s state program The socio-economic Russian Arctic’s development. The Taimyr’s head will speak about the territory’s development, including the underground resources’ development and the large investment projects’ implementation. The Taimyr administration’s department of culture’s head Valentina Satskaya will make a report on The ethnotourism, event tourism, trades and crafts of the indigenous peoples of the North.
The summit’s information occasion is the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Taimyr administration and St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU LETI).
